A Dream

...I was dreaming this morning that there was a flea sized chipmunk... -v-;;; It was flying from one telephone pole to another and it kept on almost dropping to the ground except it'll somehow leverage itself up midair so it'd actually make it to the next pole. And I was trying to catch it... -v-;;

And I'll catch it but each time, I'll open my hands because I wasn't sure that I did catch it and I wasn't sure that it was a chipmunk so that it kept on getting away and leaping away, so I kept on catching it... -v-;;

Must get off 'net and start working on my paper...

What does the word "borrow" mean? Let's look it up in the dictionary... Oh, how convenient. Here're some of the main definitions in the The American Heritage dic.tion.ar.y of The English Language: Third Edition: "1. To obtain or receive (something) on loan with the promise or understanding of returning it or its equivalent. 2. To adopt or use as one's own: I borrowed your good idea." Now, is it just me, or is the second definition a bit too convenient for some people? There's no mention of asking for permission from the owner.

Where'd ownership go? And respect for other people's property???

In the kitchen of my college residence house (no, it's not a dorm) I keep most of my cooking utensils like cutting board and knife, a pot, and a pan. Let's say you lived in the same house as I and needed to use a pot or a pan which you don't have. What do you do? Just use it? No. You first ask whose it is, then ask for the owner's permission to use it, and once you obtain the owner's permission, you use it, and you return it washed and cleaned.

You don't use someone's knife just because you know the person, and you don't lend it to another person so that person thinks it's yours and not know in truth whose it is.

Yes, I'm a little annoyed that someone used my knife without even asking me, and lent it to somebody else who took it to her room so that when I looked for it, it wasn't in the kitchen. Previous to this little incident, I was annoyed at my friend because I thought she was using my knife, left it in the drying rack and never put it back to where I usually keep it. Now I know that it was someone else. I'm happy that it wasn't my friend who was the culprit.

I'm just a little annoyed that these kids don't seem to have any sense of respect for other people's possessions. The same person that used my knife and kept it in her room also used my friend's pot and bowl without asking her.

So if you're a high school senior going to college or a freshman in college, just take a look at what you're doing and try not to shock your elders with your lack of morals, because I hate it when the kiddies in the house act without tact, make me angry so that I tell them not to do certain things and they think I'm telling them stuff just to be mean. No. I'm just being the kind of strict mother that they never seemed to have had.

ariberry >> muuu...I'm angry about the 9-11 terrorist attack for other reasons too... They're making it hard for many people graduating this winter or next spring to get jobs!! >x< (my dream job at the airline.... T_T_T_T_T_T)

Educated, refined people do not use the F-word. (XD)
or maybe it's just the English majors XD

In one of my classes, we're reading this 20th century African American literature that uses a lot of graphic terms and the f-word. (And no, I don't use that word either. I consider it low class.) We were discussing the language today, and it was interesting that there were 3 types of people. One that I noticed most was when people spoke like this: "I think they were saying this when they said 'Yeah, you're f*cking me' and when they use the word f*ck, etc." XDDD Then the second type of people would not say the word at all but just refer to it as the "f-word," then there're the people who do the opposite of the first type of people and say; "They use 'f*ck' like in terms of sex, when they're doing it, not in the sense of 'f*ck you' etc."

By the way, I think the book's a great novel and I long stopped caring about the graphic nature of it and the language because there's meaning to the language, and it's not the senseless repetition of the f-word just for the sake of using it. (Which most of the freshmen in my house do. Put the f-word in every single sentence they utter... -_-;;; I've never seen nor heard "good f*cking luck" before... -v-;;;)

ryuueny >> "shinayaka" translates to "sleek" I guess? What was the confusion with that??? And "yuugata" would be that time when the sun sets, so...twilight?

=_=; The RA said "we're grown up, we're adults, we can handle things ourselves, talk it over. We don't need to have rules and be punished like kids. We're women, ya know?"

I got the impression that she didn't want to handle any of the house problems so she wanted us to resolve our problems ourselves. So one day I post up a letter like thing (all nice too) addressing a problem because I didn't know who was causing the problem. I just addressed the note to people in the house. Later that day, the note is taken down and the RA leaves a note on my door asking me to come talk to her. Well, it was Thursday, and I didn't see her at all until next Monday because she wasn't around the house. Anyway, I see her on Monday, and she tells me I shouldn't put up notes like that because I sound like I'm targeting somebody. -_-;;; Hello? Wasn't she the one who was saying that we should try to handle things ourselves? And who cares if they're talking about me behind my back and she's friends with them so she has to hear them badmouth me? And targeting? Excuse me, but I actually sounded nice in the note, and I even used my Blue Teddy Bear stationary just so it wouldn't look mean or anything. Besides, I wasn't targeting anyone. If they felt they were targeted, then that's their problem for having a guilty conscience.

People are so incomprehensible. They want to look so cool and great, and they're so damn insecure. So afraid and envious of people with self confidence too, apparently. If they've the time to worry about things like that, they oughta study more, get better grades, and gain some confidence from that. Not that grade is a confidence factor, but it can be if they have absolutely nothing else to be confident about.

ryuueny >> Did you buy the NoteWorthy proggie? I'm looking all over the 'net for a free midi sequencer program... >x< (And my brains're too fried to take a look at your translation right now -v-;;)

Apparently...I look scary... TxT There's this one girl in the dorm house who's so uncomfortable talking to me and looks so scared when she thinks I'm not looking... ;_; My friend, who also lives in the house, is friends with her and she tells me that I do look scary if I don't smile, and I don't smile often enough... And people tell me I sound like a mom *stares at her evil twin* and that I lecture when I talk... -v-;;;; But why should people be scared of that? XP And apparently, people get scared of me when I knock on their door and ask them to quiet down 'cause they're noisy. What's with that? People're so dumb. Their noise gets on my nerves, so what else'm I supposed to do? Not say anything and hate them all the more for being noisy? At least if they're quiet, then I won't hate them. I'm not going to waste my energy hating them when all they need to do is close their stupid doors. It's not like I'm asking them to be silent. There's a difference between being silent and quiet. I hate uneducated people. -_-;

Speaking of uneducated people, I hate it when people think foreign students are actually stupid because of the way they talk. Yes, I make jokes or get annoyed if my TA or prof had such a thick accent that I couldn't understand, but that's because I think that if they're gonna teach, then they should at least be able to fluently speak the language they're teaching in. They're not living up to my standard as a TA or prof. I've no problem as people, nor do I think they're stupid just because of their accent.

I've had people think they have to speak to me as if they're speaking to a baby, crouching down to speak to me even though they're shorter than I. -v-;; I've also had profs who think I should go to writing center for help with paper because they think I can't write. -v-;; Of course, I don't tell them that I do my paper last minute and never proof read my papers. Of course I can write a perfect paper if I want to. I just don't think the time and effort worth it to write perfect papers.

Got sidetracked there... XD Nah, as I was saying... I hate it when people think foreigners are stupid because of their accent. Apparently, my friend that I mentioned above, has her roommate and some of the other house mates make fun of her because of her accent. She's from Hong Kong and has a heavy accent. She's sensitive about it, and doesn't like people acting as if she were stupid just because of her accent. I wouldn't either. Those people making fun wouldn't either if they took the moment to reflect how they would feel in her shoes. I should think my friend's lot more intelligent and courageous for being in a foreign country speaking a language not native to her.

I hate stupid people... They can't ever seem to put themselves in other people's shoes.

ryuueny >> muuu...that sounds kinda scary, your ex-job situation. O.o; I'm starting to worry about my job hunting situation now... 'Cause I wanted to work in an airline and you know how that business is going because of what happened... >x<

Mu...Am I the very first person in the history to have stabbed the back of her throat when trying to swallow Nyquil gelcap...? -v-;;; It went down vertically, and stabbed my throat before it actually went down... And usually, it goes in sideways so that it won't go down but get stuck somewhere below the throat... -_-;;;

haaa...I need to update my catnip and cattail... -v-;;; Instead, I procrastinated, revamping in a cream. But if anyone wants clamp x wallpapers, you can go there and grab some. -v-;;; I've... *gasp* 17 or so x wallpapers... -_-;; And I also threw in my current desktop theme if you wanna see what kind of setup I have. XD But seriously...need to update cattail... -_-;;; 'Cause I did pic exchange, and I still haven't put them up. -v-;;;
